Terahertz(THz)technology has been applied in many scientific fields and shows outstanding advantages in safety inspection,national defense safety,wireless communication,biomedical sciences and astronomical observation et al.THz wireless communication system is an important application of THz technology,and the antenna is the essential and important devices in it.Therefore,THz antennas have great research value and significance.In order to design THz horn antennas which meet the requirements of wireless communication system,three kinds of corrugated horn antennas are designed which are the L-type corrugated horn antenna,the bidirectional corrugated horn antenna and the step corrugated horn antenna in this thesis.Firstly,according to the characteristics of the small angle corrugated horn antenna and the corrugated waveguide have similar field distribution.Field distribution and characteristic equation in corrugated horn antenna has been studied by analyzing field distribution and characteristic equation of corrugated waveguide.The distribution of far and near field of corrugated horn antenna is analyzed,and the design principle of antenna is also analyzed.Next,the structure and radiation performance of L-type corrugated horn antenna is analyzed.In order to optimize the best radiation performance of antenna,the influence of corrugation number of mode conversion section,period number of the wavelength,groove width and tooth width ratio on the radiation characteristics of antenna is discussed.The simulation results show that the antenna gain is above 20.7dBi and 3dB main lobe beamwidth is less than 15.6~o in the operating band.Then the bidirectional corrugated horn antenna is designed,the radiation characteristics of the antenna are simulated and analyzed.And the influence of corrugation number of mode conversion section,period number of the wavelength,groove width and tooth width ratio on the radiation characteristics of antenna is discussed.The simulation results show that the gain is higher than 21.1dBi and 3dB main lobe beamwidth is less than 14.8~o in the working band.Finally,the step corrugated horn antenna is simulated and the influence of corrugated width and corrugated height on the far field radiation performance are discussed.The simulation results show that the antenna gain is above 20.1dBi and 3dB main lobe beamwidth is less than 16.6~o in the operating band.In the case of THz wireless communication system antenna requirements,compared with the previous two antenna,step corrugated horn antenna has the advantages of such as small size,simple structure,easy processing.So it is processed,tested and analyzed the reasons for the error by comparing test results and simulation results.In summary,the THz corrugated horn antennas designed in this thesis have great radiation performance and meet the THz antenna requirements of the wireless communication system.
