There are many advantages of commuter buses,such as establishing a good image of the company and exert advertising effects.However,the disadvantages are also obvious,including the high operating costs,affects social bus system operation and so on.Therefore,optimize the planning of commuter buses on its safety,convenience and rational use of resources is beneficial to reduce company's expenditure,improve their social impact.This paper introduced the research background of route optimization of commuter bus and the research trends in worldwide,and analyzed the significance and practical role of route optimization of commuter bus.The classification and main calculation methods of commuter vehicle path problem were introduced,and the biological principle and mathematical model of ant colony algorithm were expounded.By analyzing the driving school S commuter bus characteristics,operating time and cost,also the organization and management situation and existing problems,we set up an optimization goal and established the model with the shortest distance between two sites through baidu map by using matlab to select the optimized route through each possible path.Finally,we used baidu map and the actual bus operation to verify the route optimization results,and gave the technical support and management measures to the S driving hospital commuter vehicles.In the end of this paper,the deficiencies of the research and the next research direction were analyzed.The new optimization scheme achieved the shortest path optimization.
