Horizontal and ascending velocities of seawater are important parameters for ocean observation, but the large magnitude difference limits the accurate measurement of upwelling by traditional ocean current sensors.Focusing on the key problem of three-dimensional seawater velocity measurement, this paper presents an upwelling measuring device based on a novel compliant mechanism, and a novel static calibration device was developed and experimentally studied as well.Firstly,The performances of different types of force sensors and resistance strain gauges were analyzed and compared, the unique advantages of strain force sensors were highlighted.According to the motion characteristics of horizontal and ascending currents, the design basis and measurement principle of the corresponding part of the modular ocean current sensor were clarified separately. The performances of different types of the flexible hinges and strain-concentrated holes were analyzed and compared to lay a theoretical foundation for the later selection and design of key force sensitive components.Secondly,Based on configuration synthesis of compliant mechanism,a novel lever-type force-magnifying compliant mechanism with combined flexure hinges was proposed. The stress distribution at the hole edge of the long oval opening was explored, and the key dimension parameters were analyzed and designed, and the force response curve was obtained, minimum resolution is 10 ?N.A novel upwelling measuring device was designed for inducing, converting and amplifying the initial micro-lift,which can meet the requirements of measuring the micro-upwelling velocity of seawater. Finally,A static calibration device for micro-force sensors was developed based on the principle that the lever-type force-magnifying compliant mechanism reduces the standard weight force accurately and uses it as the calibration force source. The static analysis of micro-force generating mechanism was carried out and the theoretical calculation method of force reduction multiple was deduced, the key rod lengths were analyzed and designed finally. The finite element simulation analysis and the loading experiment of the calibration device were carried out,and the force response curves under different combined weights and displacements were obtained respectively.Theresults suggest that the maximum errors between simulation results and theoretical values, experimental results and theoretical values are 5.501% and 7.391%,the non-linear error of the device is 2.89%,and the minimum output force is 4 ?N.Therefore, the static calibration device can be used for the accurate calibration of micro-force sensors.
