John Stewart Bell(hereafter this paper will be abbreviated as Bell)is an outstanding physicist in the second half of the 20 th century.Although his life was very short,he had played an important role in the development of contemporary physics.Bell is well known for his famous Bell's inequality. The birth of Bell's inequality opened the door for the experimental study of quantum entanglement, and laid the foundation for the study of modern quantum information and quantum communication technology.Through the study of Bell,we can not only understand Bell's outstanding contribution to the science in the 20 th century, but also understand his precious legacy for science and other fields after his death. This paper is composed of three parts: introduction, main body and conclusion. And there are three chapters in the main body. The first chapter mainly studies on Bell's life.Bell was born in 1928.His life can be divided into three stages: childhood and early education experience?early work and further study?working in CERN.The study on Bell's life can not only give a comprehensive understanding of him,but also reflect the social and physical changes after World War II.The second chapter mainly studies on Bell's achievements.Bell was a scientist with many research directions and all those directions had little relation.Although he is most famous for his achievements in quantum mechanics, his major was accelerator physics, and he has a very deep study of high-energy physics. In addition,Bell was also interested in physics education, and had his own unique views on physics teaching, which also promoted the development of physics education. The innovations of this paper is that Bell's contribution to physics education and his thought of physics education. That's a point that scholars at China or abroad have not noticed of Bell. The third chapter mainly studies on Bell's legacy.Although Bell's lifewas only 62 years,he left a great legacy to the world.Bell's legacy is not only limited to the advancement of science, but also has a tremendous impact on Ireland's local society.By holding a lot of activities in memory of Bell in Belfast,we can see how the impact of the activities of scientific groups on government decision-making.
