This dissertation studies the structured bacterial population model under general boundary conditions on L1 space.We give the corresponding transport operators to generate a positive C0 semigroup,and prove that the positive C0 semigroup is irreducible.Then we discuss the weak compactness of the 9th order residual terms of the dyson-phillips expansion of the positive C0 semigroup generated by this kind of transport operator and its spectrum analysis,and obtain that the spectrum of this kind of transport operator is only composed of finite discrete eigenvalues with finite algebraic multiplicity on the right half plane.Finally the asymptotic behavior and asynchronous growth characteristic of the corresponding solutions of the model are given.
