Animal skull is the most stable structure in animal organisms. Its morphological difference can effectively reflect the morphological plasticity and even species differentiation characteristics of animals in different environments.Skull morphology is an important research object and means for animal geography evolution and adaptation evolution.Siberian Weasel(Musta sibirica)is a small mammal with strong adaptability. Its distribution range is wide. The Siberian weasel in different regions has certain differences in phenotype, but the relationship between morphological characteristics and function is clear. In this study,50 male and female adult skulls were collected from Yichun forest area in Xiaoxing'anling and Zhaodong area in Songnen Plain. The geometrical morphology of the skull and the three-dimensional model were compared.Morphological variation and relationship with biological function, sexual dimorphism, etc.,obtained the following results:1.From the size of the body, regardless of the male and female, the plain ecotype Siberian weasel skull is larger than the forest ecotype type, the difference is significant, and the sexual dimorphism is obvious. No matter the plain ecological type and the forest ecological type, the male is larger than the female, the difference is different.significant;2.From the perspective of overall morphological variation, there is no significant difference between different ecotypes and genders;3.From the functional morphological characteristics, regardless of male and female, sputum volume, cranial length, maxillary volume, eucalyptus volume, nasal cavity volume, iliac width, mandibular total height, mandibular length, mandibular volume, mandibular volume, mandible The volume, maxillary canine crown length and mandibular canine crown length are both plain ecological type and forest ecological type, and the difference is significant;brain volume, cerebellar volume and olfactory bulb volume forest ecological jaundice are higher than plain ecological type.4.From the characteristics of sexual dimorphism, the length of the ear,the width of the ear,the total length of the skull, the volume of the ear,the volume of the upper jaw,the length of the jaw,the length of the base of the jaw,the width of the ankle, the width of the ankle, the volume of the nasal cavity, the width of the ankle, the width of the jaw,and the jaw Full height, mandibular length, mandibular volume, mandibular volume, mandibular volume, maxillary canine crown length, mandibular canine crown length, brain volume, cerebellar volume and olfactory bulb volume were all males higher than females, and the difference was extremely significant..Based on the above results, the following conclusions are drawn:The change of body size is the best adaptation strategy of Astragalus membranaceus to the evolution of different environments and sexual dimorphisms. The difference in functional morphology of the skull is the result of the combination of natural selection and sexual selection.
