Following the Dayawan neutrino experiment measuring the neutrino mixing angle?13,Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observation?JUNO?as one of the eight neutrino experiment scheme has been put on the agenda,and it will be used to study the hot and important issue,which will aim to test the neutrino mass order.In the JUNO electronics system,a suitable cable is needed to connect the underwater electronic box and the back-end electronics part on the surface of the water.In order to study the electrical performance of several kinds of Cat5e cable with different waterproof structure,I designed the Cat 5e cable testing system using in JUNO.Firstly,the electrical performance of several types of cables including clock jitter?Jitter?,impedance continuity,near end crosstalk?NEXT?,bit error rate and transmission bandwidth,is studied under different ambient conditions such as atmospheric pressure,changing water pressure and constant water pressure.After analysised,one type cable as reference for the following design using the connection of the electronic part has selected.In the cables installation,testing transmission of cables whether have been damaged by discrimination is nesessary.For preventing that the JUNO experiment uses subquality cables.The research of this test system includes the design and manufacture of hardware,and the realization of the program of the software part.It completes the testing function,which includes 125MHz's clock transmission test,error code and network performance.The whole research work has completed.It includes the design of the schematic diagram of the cable test board,the PCB design,the welding of the components,and the programming of the ISE and Iperf.The test system also includes the front-end control board with a programmable FPGA.The front-end control board connect the cable test board through a FMC.Signal communicating use JTAG loading Verilog program to the cable test board to monitor signal transmission through the oscilloscope and ChipScope.The test system has the function of cable clock signal transmission,error code and network performance test after testing this systerm.
