SCIENCE is an academic journal published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science,and is one of the most authoritative academic journals in the world.The journal's main focus is on publishing important originality,cutting-edge scientific research and research summaries.At the end of each year,the Science will select the top 10 research topics that best represent the breakthroughs in science in the past year,called Breakthrough of the Year.The "Breakthrough of the Year"demonstrates the judges of the journal editorial board on the value and development potential of new technologies emerging in the year,and the selected topics are often the current research hotspots in the subject or field of the subject.In the "Breakthrough of the Year" selected between 2010 and 2016,there were three biomedical themes with similar research start times,similar quantity of paper,and similar research content but independent core content,namely synthetic biology,induced pluripotent stem cells,CRISPR/Cas9.This paper takes these three hot topics as the object,selects the three hot topic related papers published in the SCI core collection database of Web of Science in 2018 and before as the data set,and takes the paper as individual,each hotspot the subject data set is the overall extracted h-core paper representing high-impact papers as a comparison object for all papers.Using the method including scientometrics analysis,social network analysis and content analysis,from the five perspectives of countries,institutions,papers,periodicals and keywords,the paper analyzes the research status of three hot topics,the differences between topics,the inter-thematic cross-relationships and mutual Role,for the relevant subject researchers to conduct research,seek partners,relevant areas of talent evaluation to provide advice and reference.Among them,the h-index,g-index and academic track are selected as the measure in the scientific measurement analysis.In the social network analysis method,the degree centrality,the betweenness centrality and the eigenvector centrality are selected as the measure.In order to analyze the status quo of the subject research,using the scientific measurement measure,combined with the content analysis method,the distribution of the three hot topic papers in the country,institution and author was measured,and the results of scientific measurement analysis were given.At the national level,the number of papers and scientific indicators in the three themes of the United States,Japan,the United Kingdom,Germany,and China are among the top 10 and the top 5.At the institutional level,each of the three hot topics has a core institution that is not completely consistent.At the author level,combined with scientific measurement indicators and content analysis methods,the authors give the scientific measurement ranking of the core authors,and analyze the representative research and the latest research progress of the core authors according to the ranking.In order to analyze the topic cooperation relationship,the social network analysis method is combined with the content analysis method to analyze the structure andimportant nodes of the three hot topic papers,and visually display the structure of the joint network.In the author's co-authoring network,combined with content analysis,it analyzes the representative research and the latest research progress of important nodes.Correlation analysis between the results of scientific measurement analysis and social network analysis results shows that the two are moderate to weak correlations.They are two different analysis methods.The distribution indicates the direct academic contribution of the evaluation object and promotes knowledge flow through cooperation.The degree of contribution,the two can complement each other.In the periodical analysis,the academic journals are used to measure the core journals corresponding to the hotspots.It is found that the core journals of the three themes have their own characteristics in the distribution of comprehensive journals and disciplinary journals.The distribution law and the number of thesis papers may have corresponding relationships.In the keyword analysis,the social network analysis method is used to analyze the common word network.The results show that the main core contents of the three themes are different.At the same time,the visualization results of the common word network show that the research contents of the three themes overlap.Analyze the public policies at home and abroad corresponding to the three hotspots,and combine the results of econometric analysis to explore the impact of the public policy environment on scientific research activities.
