Distributed fiber optic sensing technology is a new sensing technology that has rapidly developed along with optical fiber technology and optical communication technology.Although the domestic optical fiber sensing technology has developed for a long time,the early development was relatively slow.By 2008,the domestic fiber optic sensing industry began to rise rapidly.By the end of 2016,the domestic optical fiber sensor industry transaction volume had exceeded 500 million CNY.From the perspective of the supply and demand market of geological and geotechnical monitoring,the industry still has great potential for development.In this thesis,the author uses SWOT to analyze the distributed fiber optic monitoring of geological and geotechnical engineering from four aspects:summarizing the advantages of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology;analyzing the challenges of distributed fiber optic monitoring and providing solutions;predicting the market promotion opportunities of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology based on the requirements of geological and geotechnical monitoring;and evaluating the industry competition risk of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology.The main contents of this thesis can be summarized as follows.(1)The characteristics and requirements of geological and geotechnical engineering monitoring are elaborated.The characteristics and shortcomings of common monitoring techniques in geotechnical engineering are summarized.The distributed fiber optic sensing technology is analyzed about how to meet the requirements of geological and geotechnical engineering monitoring.Finally,the application status of distributed fiber optic sensing technology in geological and geotechnical engineering monitoring is summarized.(2)The advantages of different types of distributed fiber optic monitoring technologies are summarized.The advantages of instruments in various distributed fiber optic monitoring technologies are presented in detail.Finally,the advantages and applications of different distributed fiber optic monitoring technologies are compared.(3)The data of geohazard monitoring and geoengineering monitoring market are illustrated,and the market demand of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology for geological and geotechnical engineering is analyzed.The future development of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology in geological and geotechnical engineering is predicted.(4)The technical challenges in the application of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology in different fields of geological and geotechnical engineering are analysed;the technical bottleneck on the application of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology is quantified;and solutions of some technical bottleneck are provided.(5)PEST and Michael Porter's Five Forces Model are used to analyze the industry competition situation and risks in the development of distributed fiber optic monitoring technology market;the competition status of geological and geotechnical distributed fiber optic monitoring industry is provided;and some feasible strategies for the industry-university research are provided.
