The Xumugou study area is located in the middle-south section of the Daxinganling metallogenic belt, the Horqin Youyiqian county in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regiont. The Lower Permian Dashizhai Formation and the Jurassic Manketou Ebo Formation and Manitou Formation are main strata. There are small Late Jurassic intrusive rocks, including diorite and granite. The veins are seen in granite veins, diorite veins,fine-grained quartz diorite veins, granite porphyry veins, and quartz diorite veins.Through the actual field investigation and data collection, this paper conducts preliminary research and analysis on the geological and geochemical characteristics and metallogenic potential of the study area. The results have certain guiding significance for mineral exploration in study area in the future. The study area as one of the anomalous prospects was selected by 1:50000 stream sediment survey.Detailed 1:10000 soil survey was to define the elemental distribution, enrichment and differentiation. The results show that most of the elements are characterized by high enrichment and strong heterogeneity.According to the spatial combination characteristics of elemental anomalies, seven comprehensive anomalies are delineated in the study area, and comprehensive anomaly analysis is carried out to analyze the abnormal characteristics of the element combinations.Abnormal AP1-AP6 carried out anomaly verification, and comprehensive interpretation of the anomaly was carried out through 1:5000 comprehensive profile measurement combined with trenching exposure and drilling verification results. As confirmed by profile investigation, the anomalies of Au,Pb,Zn and Ag in the AP1anomaly zone could be well reproduced.A total of three exploratory trenches were designed in the abnormal concentration center. The tuffs with ferritization were found in the trenches TC1,TC2 and TC3.Two drill holes?ZK6501 and ZK6?were placed at the induced polarization DJ1-1anomaly delineated in the AP1 anomaly zone.Seven Pb-Zn-Ag mineralized bodies were defined in the depth range of 148.79395.00 m of the ZK6501 drill hole. The thickness of the single layer was 0.504.50 m.The concentrations of Zn,Pb and Ag were 0.140.71%,0.250.74%and100×10-6,respectively.Eight Pb-Zn-Ag mineralized bodies were defined in the depth range of32.51220.03 m in the ZK6 drill hole. The thickness of the single layer is 0.5028.11 m.The concentrations of Zn,Pb and Ag were 1.13%,0.38%and 98.7×10-6,respectively.The geochemical anomalies reproducibility was good in the AP5 anomaly zone according to profile verification.A North-West Ag-Pb mineralized alteration zone was delineated. After drilling engineering verification, two layers of mineralized bodies were found in ZK101.One layer was Ag mineralized body, with an average Ag grade of 61.4 g/t.The other is Zn-Cu mineralized body, with average Zn and Cu grades of 0.465%and 0.07%,respectively.The AP5anomaly zone was found to have similar mineralization background through comparison with the Fuxingtun 1 mining area.In addition, although the AP4 comprehensive anomaly is small in size,it was verified by the ZK3 drill hole that eight Pb-Zn-Ag mineralized bodies were delineated. Therefore,it is concluded that the three anomalous zones of AP1,AP4 and AP5 have good prospecting potential for ore deposits and are the best target areas for finding Ag,Pb,Zn,Au and Cu polymetallic ore deposits.
