Under the influence of Surface plasmon polaritons(SPP),metal nanoparticles can interact with electromagnetic radiation uniquely,which can greatly enhance the intensity of elecTtromagnetic field distribution in the near field region.When several metal nanoparticles are arranged and assembled in a certain way to form periodic array structures,the near field of each nanoparticle will interact with its neighboring particles,which will make the plasma oscillation coupled with each other.It is the plasma coupling between these particles that makes the spectral signals of molecules adhering to the junction of nanoparticles intensify strongly,resulting in the function of sensing and detecting various substances.SPP are widely used in photoelectric detection,sensing,bioimaging,solar cells,surface-enhanced Raman and other fields.Based on the need for accurate measurement of liquid volume in nanometer scale,we designed a nanometer measuring cylinder by using the enhancement effect of nano-hole array on SPP on metal surface.When different volumes of liquid are loaded into the measuring cylinder,we measure the reflectance curve by spectrometer,and find the resonance valley of the reflectance is obviously offset.Therefore,we can accurately calculate the volume of liquid in the measuring cylinder by observe the position of the resonance valley.The measuring cylinder can measure the volume of nano-scale liquid quickly and accurately,it has the advantages of non-destructive,non-invasive,convenient and fast.It has been verified that the range of the barrel can reach 1.96×106nm3-9.82×106nm3,and the minimum resolution is 4.91×104nm3 when the incident light is incident vertically.These parameters can be further improved by changing the incident angle of the incident light.These excellent measurement performances have extremely broad development and application prospects in the current market.
