The intake fore bay of pumping station is an important hydraulic structure connecting intake pool and diversion channel,and it is the guarantee of good intake of pumping station.The main function is to connect the channel into the water and smooth the flow to provide a good flow pattern for the intake tank.Because of the special requirements of geographic location and engineering structure,the lateral intake mode is chosen,that is,the lateral intake fore bay.Relying on the side inlet fore bay of Ling cheng Pumping Station,the flow characteristics in the fore bay are studied,and the optimization scheme is put forward to solve the flow pattern problems such as deviation and vortex in the fore bay.Based on CFX,a large-scale fluid calculation software,this paper simulates the flow in the fore bay of Ling cheng pumping station.Aiming at the problems of uneven velocity distribution,main flow deviation and local return in the intake fore bay,the reasonable rectification measures are put forward by numerical simulation of the flow in the intake fore bay under different water level combinations.Select the typical section in the fore bay,choose the best rectification measure by analyzing and comparing the velocity uniformity and weighted average angle on the typical section.The main conclusions of the paper are as follows:(1)In this paper,the standard turbulence model is used to simulate the three working conditions of the project.It is found that the bend flow phenomenon always exists and does not change with the water level,so the rectification improvement is only studied under the designed operating water level.(2)Through the analysis of streamline map,vector distribution cloud map,and the calculation of cross-section velocity uniformity and weighted average angle,it is found that scheme 5 is the best scheme.The velocity distribution and inflow angle of scheme 5 are superior to the original scheme and other rectification improvement schemes.
