Objectives The purpose of the study was to observe the changes of blood indexes in cyclists.Through the intervention of hydrogen-rich water, the oxidative stress level, antioxidant capacity and the influence on sports ability of cyclists were monitored and analyzed. To investigate the effect of hydrogen-rich water as an exogenous antioxidant on antioxidant capacity and oxidative stress level of cyclists. It is hoped that it will provide a scientific theoretical basis for the supplement of antioxidants in athletes' sports training in the future, and also lay a foundation for the follow-up study of hydrogen-rich water in the field of sports. Methods The subjects of this study were 13 male cyclists from Shanghai. They were randomly divided into experimental group A(n=7)and control group B(n=6).The experimental time was the winter training stage of Shanghai cyclists, and the total experimental period was 40 days. The experimental group was supplemented with hydrogen-rich water 735ml during and after daily exercise, while the control group was supplemented with placebo pure water 735ml during daily exercise and 45 minutes after exercise. The time of blood sample collection was before the experimental intervention(initial value),before the exercise after the experimental intervention and immediately after the intervention,respectively,7 ml of elbow venous blood was taken and stored at low temperature for unified detection. The physical fitness test program included aerobic incremental test,75%VO2max load power cycling to exhaustion, aerobic incremental test in which peripheral blood of the tested athletes was taken to measure blood lactic acid immediately after exercise. The changes of VO2max,PPO,HR max and blood lactic acid were observed before and after the experiment,at the same time, the changes of maximal oxygen uptake, maximal aerobic power, maximal heart rate, maximal heart rate and blood lactic acid were observed before and after the experiment. The activities of MDA,SOD,GSH-PX,T-AOC,SOD and·OH were compared and analyzed. Results 1)After the intervention of hydrogen-rich water, the content of lactic acid in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(p<0.05),and the maximum power of the experimental group after intervention was significantly higher than that before intervention(p<0.05).2)Immediately after the intervention of hydrogen-rich water,The activities of GSH-PX and T-AOC in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(p<0.05).After intervention,MDA in the experimental group was significantly higher than that before intervention(p<0.05).SOD was lower than that before intervention(p<0.05).In the control group,MDA was significantly higher than that before intervention(p<0.05),SOD,T-AOC was significantly lower than that before intervention(p<0.05).Immediately after exercise, only MDA was significantly increased in the experimental group(p<0.05).In the control group,MDA was significantly higher than that before exercise(p<0.05),GSH-PX and T-AOC were significantly lower than those before exercise(p<0.01).3)The content of·OH in the experimental group increased significantly(p<0.05),but the content of 02-did not show significant difference(p>0.05).And the levels of 02-and·OH in the control group were significantly higher than those in the control group(p<0.05).Conclusion Exhaustive exercise results in the aggravation of ROS production in athletes, which leads to the decrease of antioxidant capacity of the body and induces oxidative stress injury. After the intervention of hydrogen-rich water, the lactic acid of the athletes in the experimental group decreased significantly immediately, and the maximum oxygen intake power was significantly higher than that before the intervention. And the blood malondialdehyde MDA in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group. The activities of T-AOC and glutathione peroxidase GSH-PX in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the activities of 02-and·OH in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group. It is suggested that the supplement of hydrogen-rich water may reduce the accumulation of lactic acid in high-intensity exercise, increase the maximum oxygen intake power, and prolong the duration of athletes' continuous exercise.Hydrogen-rich water can effectively protect athletes from oxidative stress injury by scavenging free radicals and improving the antioxidant enzyme activity of the body.At the same time,in the scavenging of free radicals,hydrogen-rich water may have excellent selective antioxidant capacity, but its selective antioxidant effect in vivo still needs to be further studied.
