The Inner Mongolia Suolun metallogenic prospect area is located in the southern central part of the Greater Khingan Mountains,which is the northern and eastern part of the lead,zinc and copper metallogenic belt,a sub-belt of Greater Khingan Mountains multi-metal metallogenic belt range from Bairenda Dam — Daolunda Dam — Hua'ao Baote — Chaohao Eertu — Zhamuqin — Suolun.The geologic structure is located in the middle part of the collision belt between the Siberian plate and the North China plate.This region experienced the long geologic history evolution in Paleozoic Era and Cenozoic Era,therefore the geologic structure background of the main body is complex.The stratum of late Paleozoic Era and the continental facies volcanoclastic rock stratum of the Mesozoic Era were strongly folded and deformed by tectonic movement,accompanied by the production of a large number of intrusive rocks,volcanic lava and sub-volcanic rocks.The tectonic-magmatic activities in different periods provide favorable geological conditions for ore-forming in the study area.There are many iron,lead,zinc and copper ores in the area,and the mineralization periods are mainly Yanshanian and Variscan stage.The types of ore deposits are mainly contact metasomatic lead,zinc,iron ores,and hydrothermal lead,zinc,silver,molybdenum(gold)ores.This paper relies on the The 115 Geology and Mineral Exploration Development Institute in 2008-2011 participation in the four 1:50000 regional mineral resources geological survey and mineral field check work in areas including the Suolun horse ranch,and the research work of three Poly-metallic deposit pre-survey projects at Chagan Aobao,Huolidi Trench and Tanyao Trench,the conclusion reaches that the metallogenetic age is between the middle Jurassic and the early Cretaceou.The magmatic activities in the area are intense.The diorite vein of Chagan Aobao has intruded into the Late Jurassic volcanic strata,whose body is small in size and has been gold and silver mineralized and in which gold orebody of structural altered rock type is likely to be found.In the northeast of the Suolun horse ranch,a diorite-porphyrite vein has also been developed,which has intruded into the late Permian Linxi Formation and whose magmatic activities are those of the later stage hydrothermal solution.The vein has formed copper-iron anomalies rising along the cracks and copper-iron mineralization spots have been found.Quartz veins are well developed and abundant in the area,some of which are related to the mineralization of gold,tungsten,molybdenum and copper,and are controlled by tectonic activities.By comparing the ore-controlling factors of the typical deposits in the middle-south section of the Greater Hinggan mountains and the geological background conditions,structural characteristics,geophysical and geochemical anomalies and the characteristics of ore spots discovered,the study area can be divided into two grade I metallogenic areas(belts),two grade II metallogenic areas(belts),seven metallogenic prospecting areas and five prospecting targets.
