The intense activity of the E'mei mantle plume leads to the widespread distribution of E'meishan basalt in northwestern Guizhou,which is extremely rich in its related mineral resources(copper,lead and zinc).But there are few studies on niobium and tantalum.Through collecting the regional geological data and related literature of the study area,we have carried out a more detailed study on the regional geological background and regional mineralization,and through the selective field investigation and sampling,the distribution of the clay rocks at the top and bottom of the basalt,the contact relationship of the upper and lower strata,the lithologic characteristics and the mineralization,etc.The test and identification of the samples and the identification of their geological and geochemical characteristics and geochemical characteristics provide a favorable basis for the comprehensive study of the potential of Nb and Ta in the northwest of Guizhou.Get a understanding:1.The niobium and tantalum mineralization in the 1.region exists in the upper and lower part of the Permian Mount E'mei basalt group,that is,the lower part of the Xuanwei group(P3x),the lower part of the Permian Longtan Formation(P3l)and the top of the Maokou group(P2m).Its output is distributed around the basalt of E'mei Mount,and is strictly controlled by the basalt formation in E'mei Mount.2.The content analysis of trace elements in the rock basalt shows that the Nb and Ta elements are characterized by high niobium and low tantalum,indicating that the volcanic activity plays a decisive role in the control factors of the formation of niobium and tantalum.The REE is enriched in varying degrees,and the enrichment of rare earth elements is indicative of the enrichment zone of niobium and tantalum ore.3.The genesis of niobium tantalum ore is that E'meishan basalt rich in niobium has been weathered and denuded by weathering and denudation,and it provides material source for the sedimentary area.In the course of the deposition,the sediments are altered in a certain acidic medium or under certain geological and geochemical conditions.In the Permian E'mei Mount basalt group,the Nb and tantalum are rich in the weathering crust of the lower part of the Permian.The set formed mineralized body.The main factor of ore control is lithofacies palaeogeography,and secondary factors are stratigraphic geology and lithologic control factors.4.55 samples of niobium and tantalum ore taken from the clay layer,28 of them reach grade,with wide distribution area and large prospecting range.The occurrence of niobium and tantalum mineralization is stable,the content of niobium and tantalum is higher,the prospecting effect is obvious,the ore controlling factors are beneficial to the formation of the deposit.Therefore,through further exploration,the niobium and tantalum ore in the region may have greater potential,which will bring new opportunities for the transformation and development of Guizhou mining industry and the economic construction.
