Relationship Between Flowering Phenology And Phylogeny In Woody Plants

It play a great theoretical and practical important to understand the changing mechanism of plant phenology in agricultural weather forecasting,landscape construction,ecological protection,and climate change predictions.As one of most important part of phenology,whether flowering phenology only affected by the climate is still an ongoing dabate.Owing to phylogeny relates with the evolutionary sequence of plants,thus phylogenetic conservation might affect the flowering phenology.In this study,three characterizes of flowering phenology of woody plants,i.e.the initial flowering time,the falling flowering time,and the duration of flowering period,are investigated in Urumqi Botanical Garden of Xinjiang,the Chinese Phenological Observation Network,and Xinjiang Flora.Then,the distribution pattern of characteristics of flowering phenology,the differences in flowering phenology between shrbs and trees species,and the relationship of phylogenetic conservation to flowering phenology are researched in order to reveal the correalation between flowering phenology and phylogeny.The results of this study show as follows:(1)the flowering phenological frequencies of all woody plants in the two consecutive field observations,phenological observation sites and Xinjiang flora were all subject to normal distribution.(2)field observation in botanical garden,the flowering phenology of plant shrubs in Xinjiang is significantly higher than that of trees(P<0.05),which indicates that trees can complete the history of flowering earlier;the standard difference of flowering phenology of trees is lower than that of shrub standard,indicating that the flowering time of trees is relatively stable.(3)there is a significant positive correlation between flowering phenology distance and genealogical distance(P<0.05)except phenological observation site,which indicates that the influence of flowering phenology on plant flowering is not only influenced by temperature,humidity and light,but the sequence of species development also has a certain influence on the flowering phenology of plants,that is,the earlier species flowering.The more time goes ahead.In conclusion,the differentiation between trees and shrubs in the vertical space changed the flowering phenology across plant life types.phylogenetic structure also may play an important role in variation in flowering phenology among species,among biotypes,and along temporal and spatial scales.
