Research and development of high-temperature superconductors(HTS)high current conductor is a realistic problem as HTS cable,HTS current leads and HTS coils become practica with very large capacity.Mastering its basic characteristics is of great significance for research and development of superconducting power plant.In this paper,the current-carrying characteristics and AC loss characteristics of Conductor on Round Core(CORC)and the stacked conductor are studied by experimental measurement and simulation.The main works are as follows:(1)Concluded and analyzed the characteristics of different HTS tapes,such as current-carrying characteristics,anisotropy in different magnetic field angle,mechanical properties under tensile stress.The critical current of the HTS tapes under torsional stretching was tested and the critical current of the YBCO HTS tape under torsional stretching is given.(2)Short samples of CORC and the stacked conductor were fabricated,the critical current of CORC was tested and the critical current of the stacked conductor at different torsional angles was tested.Fabricated one tape CORC and 12 tapes CORC,measured the critical current and AC loss at 50 Hz and 100 Hz,and compared with Norris equation calculation results.The results showed that AC loss of one tape CORC did not decrease obviously.(3)Simulation models of CORC and the stacked conductor were established,the current-carrying characteristics of CORC under different diameters and different pitch were studied;AC loss of stacked conductor was simulated;the critical current of the stacked conductor was calculated by using the auxiliary variable P instead of the E-J nonlinear curve;the experimental results and the simulation results were compared which showed they were in agreement with each other,and this calculation method could obviously shorten the calculation time.
