The genus Silene belongs to the tribe Sileneae of Caryophyllaceae witch including about 600 species mainly distributed in the N temperate regions,Africa and South America;In China,there are 110 species?67 endemics?in China and 49 species in the Hengduan Mountains.Cytological research of Silene has a long history of abroad,the chromosome count has completed species accounted for 64.5%of all species,while only 11 species are reported in China,and research in the southwestern Hengduan Mountains more urgent strengthens.We studied the karyotypes of 20 species and 29populations of Silene and its related species,of which 16 species were the first time reports.Based on the karyotype experiment of Silene,the basic number x=12 of examined species.And it found that some of the species had multiple ploidies changes in the same?or different?populations.The karyotype differentiation and its karyotype evolution were discussed.According to the embalmed the Silene karyotype results,karyotype differentiation is considered and its karyotype evolutionary pattern.Using MCA and CVCL and THL and CVCI asymmetry co-efficient of correlation were discussed.The results showed that there was not any significant correlation between the MCA and CVCL in Silene and the relatives groups,but THL and CVCI were obviously clustered according to the multiple.By reconstructing ITS time tree,the chromosome evolutionary relationship of ancestral species is deduced according to the haploid chromosome data of known species.And the chromosome number of unknown species is predicted.All research it in group of species of diploid?34.48%?,tetraploid?37.93%?,hexaploid?27.59%?,the proportion of polyploid accounted for 65.52%.Based on the results of our experiment,it is concluded that the main means of karyotype evolution is the polyploidy change.At the same time,we compared the cytogeographic distribution of Silene species,and examined the ploidy pattern from the relationship between polyploidy and elevation.We also collected global chromosomes of existing Silene and its related genera.Trying to explore the genus chromosome evolution and evolution of karyotype combined with molecular system framework.Combined with our experimental results.Based on the results of our experiment,it is concluded that the principal means of karyotype evolution is the polyploidy change.Finally,by collecting the existing global Silene and the chromosome database,combined with the molecular system framework,we build the chromosomes evolutionary tree.The chromosome karyotype and evolution of the genus preliminary discussion.
