With the rapid development of the city, the number of motor vehicles in the street canyons has greatly increased, and the pollution caused by vehicle exhaust from urban roads has become serious. At the same time, excessive urbanization makes the internal construction is becoming more and more intensive, and natural ventilation is poorer. As a result, pollutants cannot be effectively diffused, posing a great threat to the city's internal environment and human health. At present, research on this aspect is mainly focused on the street canyons. However, the study on the diffusion of pollutants in the adjacent blocks of street canyons is not yet sufficient. In order to better improve the living environment, people need to have a deep understanding of the diffusion patterns and concentration distribution characteristics of pollutants in the neighborhoods of street canyons where human behavior is the main concern. It is of great significance to improve the residents' living environment by studying the internal flow field and the diffusion patterns of pollutants in the adjacent blocks of street canyons from the architectural design and layout of the street. In the street canyons, the patterns of pollutant diffusion in adjacent blocks in traffic pollution areas is discussed through the means of measurement and simulation research.Firstly, the influencing factors of pollutant diffusion in adjacent blocks are obtained through measurement. The measured data are compared to analyze the diffusion pattern of pollutants in adjacent blocks, which provides an empirical basis for the establishment of the diffusion of pollutants in adjacent neighborhoods and a simplified foundation.Based on this,a model for the internal diffusion of pollutants in adjacent blocks was established for later research.Reasonable boundary conditions were selected, and the diffusion of pollutants in the adjacent blocks in the three-dimensional street was simulated.Meanwhile, the accuracy and feasibility of the internal pollutant simulate models in the adjacent blocks of street canyons were verified by comparing the simulated and measured data.Using numerical simulation methods, the distribution of pollutant concentration under different architectural forms such as the height and width ratio of the street canyons, the gable spacing of buildings, the form of roofs, and the level of building along the street, etc.,is compared to summarize the change rule of pollutant concentration in the adjacent blocks in different street canyons height and width ratios and different forms of buildings. The simulation data shows that when the height and width ratio of street valley is 1:1.5,the concentration of pollutants in the adjacent blocks is the lowest, and the impact on pedestrians is relatively small. At the same time, the upwind shed roof form is most conducive to the diffusion of pollutants in adjacent blocks. Therefore,by studying the architectural styles and architectural layouts along the street,we will study street building design strategies that are conducive to the diffusion of pollutants in adjacent blocks of street canyons.
