In recent years, the study of LIBS is increased in international and local. The technique of LIBS is not only used in lab but to environment monitoring, medical and industry area. But LIBS is affected easily by environmental factor and there is a distance between LIBS and traditional analysis techniques, popularization needs more study. With the rapid development of traditional economic, the environmental contamination became a serious problem and became the focus of people.Contaminated soil causes great harm to the environment, human health and so on.Therefore, study of soil heavy metal detection technology has great significance and profound impact.Conventional detection of heavy metals in soil has a long-circle detection and low sensitivity,as well as various reasons.LIBS detecting cycle is short and has a simple structure, high sensitivity detection and characteristics of analysis various elements at the same time.It can achieve real-time online testing,to detect the environment is of great significance and role of this article is mainly from the following research: firstly, the research status, the development trends and directions of LIBS were analyzed. And then the laser-induced breakdown detection principle were introduced. To build a LIBS experiment platform, the most suitable system hardware equipment was selected.According to the characteristics of soil heavy metal elements, the laser-induced characteristic spectral analysis of the effect of laser energy was selected and the delay time, the laser pulse repetition rate and other experimental conditions on the experimental results were analyzed. To ensure the accuracy of the experimental data, experimental data should be processed. The intensity-concentration calibration method, the internal standard method, the intensity ratio calibration method and partial least square method for the quantitative analysis were used to improve the accuracy.Cr element is 25.22?g/g,the fitting coefficient is 0.998.By comparing the predicted and experimentally measured centralized model, the accuracy and feasibility of LIBS in the rapid detection of heavy metals in soil can be verified.
