Based on GOCI image,this paper usedthe observation data obtained from field experiments in 2011 to establish a remote sensing inversion algorithm of suspended particulate mattersfor the turbid water bodies in the Yellow RiverEstuary.The spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of suspended particulate matter concentration(SPM)were analyzed,and the main influencing factors of the change of SPMwere explored by collecting GOCI image data from 2012 to 2016.Based on analyzing relationship between spectral and SPM concentration data,it was found that the near infrared band was more sensitive to the variation of SPM concentration,and a regional SPM concentration algorithm for Geostationary Ocean Color Imager(GOCI)data in extremely turbid waters was developed,with the correlation coefficient of 0.942 and the Average Percentage Difference(APD)of 28.75%.The result showed that the temporal and spatial distribution of SPM were significantly different in the Yellow Sea waters.High concentration of SPM was mainly concentrated in the Bohai Bay,Laizhou Bay and the Yellow River Mouth,showing the features of high SPM for nearshore waters and low SPM for offshore waters.And it was showed that the SPM in the Yellow River Estuary was higher from January to April and from November to December,and lower from May to October,or the seasonal distribution of SPM showed higher concentration in spring and winter,and lower concentrations in summer and autumn.This study found that the runoff of Yellow River was one of the influence factors of the variation of SPM,but the effect was mostly concentrated in the Mouth of Yellow River with the increase of the Yellow River discharge,the concentration of SPM increases,and the range of influenced area increases.The waters of Bohai Bay and Laizhou Bay were less affected by the Yellow River runoff.The strong wind had a great influence on the concentration of SPM in the Yellow River Estuary waters,and the strong wind wouldincrease the concentration of SPM due to the intense re-suspension of bottom sediment,and the concentration of SPM will decrease rapidly with the decrease of wind speed.In addition,this study showed that the seasonal variation of wind speed is the main factor affecting the seasonal variation of SPM.
