As the first industry,agriculture is the fundamental issue of the people's livelihood,it has a profound influence on the survival of people and prosperity of country.Four kinds of major grain crops in China are wheat,corn,rice and potato,and these crops strongly guarantee the food security of our country.However,due to the increasingly prominent ecological problems,such as arable land shortage and water pollution and shortage,tuber crop gradually show their advantages by drought resistance,cold resistance and good taste.Xuanwei City,the largest potato crop production area in Yunnan Province,is the first batch of regional potato breeding base in China.Therefore,taking Xuanwei City of Yunnan Province as an example,the sampling method and remote sensing technology were applied in this paper,the potato planting area was estimated,and reasonable suggestions for potato planting in this province were put forward objectively,so as to achieve sustainable development of potato planting industry.Firstly,based on the sampling work,the origin of the remote sensing data was analyzed.The theoretical basis and model foundation required in this paper were introduced.The preprocessing of the existing data was carried out to get the crop area,the mean value of summer sowing potatoes,the mean value of potato planting in autumn and winter,the planting area and proportion of potato of 8 villages in Xuanwei City.Secondly,the preliminary calculation was made by simple estimation.The potato planting area of each village was calculated by using the mean and weight of each potato sample,then the planting area of ??potato in 2 quarters of the city can be measured.Thirdly,the potato planting area in Xuanwei City was further estimated by stratified sampling and ratio estimation.The first step was to collate the sample data ofXuanwei City to calculate the quadrat area,cultivated area and potato area of each quadrat.The second step,the regression analysis data fitting method was used to correct a class of measurement data,and then the weights of each quadrat was calculated separately by the ratio estimation method.The third step,according to the value of weight and planting area of potato,the average planting area of ??each quadrat in each village was calculated.In the fourth,the planting areas of potato in 403 villages of Xuanwei City were estimated.In addition,using post stratified regression estimation to estimate the planting area of potato in this city.Two types of measurement data in Xuanwei City were analysed,stratified by the use of sample land as the standard,each quadrat was divided into two layers using the cumulative square root method.Then,the weight of each layer of each sample was calculated againFinally,the accuracy analysis was carried out according to the calculation results of the three estimation methods with the estimation variance as the index.It was proved that the result of the post stratified regression estimation was the most accurate result.Then the method with the highest precision was selected as the result of this paper,that is,the planting area of ??potato in Xuanwei City in 2016 was estimated at 668,000 mu.
