Jinhu sag is one of the three major oil-generating depressions in the Subei Basin. The Shigang fault zone is an extremely complex part of the fault system in the Jinhu sag.The Mesozoic-Cenozoic formed a complex fault system in the Jinhu sag of the Subei basin..The Shigang fault zone has developed two sets of faults,of which the NNE faults are the main faults, and the faults in the Near East-West strike are supplemented. The study of the structural characteristics of the Shigang fault zone in Jinhu Sag helps to understand the impact of the pre-existing faults on the late strike-slip deformation. The structural physics simulation experiment method is now applied to simulate and reproduce it.By analyzing the structural prototype of the Shigang fault zone in Jinhu Sag,we can see that the pre-existing faults affect the main controlling factors of late-slip deformation characteristics.Further analyze the plane characteristics and profile characteristics of the Shigang fault zone. While following similar principles, separation principles, approach principles, selection principles, and statistical principles, pay attention to the setting of similar parameters such as simulation experiment geometry, dynamics, materials, and boundaries. Finally, the design and implementation of the experiment were carried out based on the above analysis, and the experimental phenomena were recorded and organized in a timely manner during the experiment.Comparing the experimental results obtained with the actual geological profile,it is determined that the fault angle between 75°Sand+5mm silica gel and the experimental substrate material simulated by the experimental substrate material is similar to the actual work area, and the accuracy of the simulation experiment is determined. The results of the study show that the experimental results are highly similar to the actual geological profiles.Structural physical simulation experiments can reproduce the formation process of the geological structure in the Shigang fault zone of Jinhu Sag and reflect its evolutionary mechanism. This shows that this simulation has a certain degree of credibility, and it has certain guiding significance for exploring the formation and evolution of other shovel faults.
