Keys are guided,characteristic distinction tables for facilitating the identification of species,and are the most useful and commonly used tools in taxonomy,not only widely used in teaching,scientific research and production practices,but also an important part of many taxonomic Flora.There are various types of keys,such as single-access key and multi-access key,which is according to the different principles and usage methods.Single-access key,also known as dichotomy retrieval table,can no longer meet the development demand of modern taxonomy because of the inherent flaws.The multi-access key based on computer and database technology,to a certain extent,has solved the current problems of single-access key.Since the study of multi-access key is still in its incipient stage,there are problems such as the limited number of data in the character database,the quantity and disorder of characters,single retrieval strategy,and so on,which results in low retrieval efficiency,low accuracy and poor use.This study aims at the above problems and takes 140 species of campus plant of Xiamen University as an example.We have established a relatively rich database of characters through field surveys and specimen research,combined with Flora and other relevant literature and all characters utilized the character classification method,up to six classes,collected 2567 characters at last.Meanwhile,we developed the multi-access key of campus plant with the help of computer-related technologies,and try to apply new retrieval strategies and methods to the system.First proposed the inclusive exclusion method combined the inclusion method and exclusion method,calculating character weight and ranking to realize the retrieval goal.The system is divided into four modules:First,multi-access retrieval module,selecting different combinations of characters to screen out target taxon,and the results are sorted by the weight level and the number of characters.Second,adding new taxa and character description module,a rich and complete database is very important for the multi-access key,this module mainly to update the taxa and character description of taxa in the system,enrich the character database.Third,updating the character module,mainly to achieve the function of updating all levels of characters and correct errors.Fourth,image viewing function,it can let us view the species images and help identification.Uploading or updating the species images is also supported in the adding new character description module.
