With the development of light weight and composite materials technology,CFRP pipes with many excellent properties have been widely applied in many fields such as the aerospace and automotive.However,CFRP pipes have difficulty in processing which has become a bottleneck in its industrial application.Corresponding to the difficult CFRP pipe processing,this paper uses the picosecond laser to test the CFRP pipe.Based on the built-up picosecond laser ablation observation system,the experimental study was conducted on the picosecond laser ablation mechanism of the CFRP pipe;based on the picosecond laser cutting system of CFRP pipes,experimental research on the picosecond laser cutting of CFRP pipes was conducted.This article mainly includes the following sections:(1)The difficulties in CFRP processing and the features and applications of picosecond laser processing technology are introduced.The research status of CFRP laser cutting and picosecond laser processing is described.A CFRP tube picosecond laser ablation observation system and second laser cutting system are constructed.(2)Basically explain the interaction mechanism between the picosecond laser and the material and the laser processing mechanism of the composite material;use the picosecond laser ablation observation system to photograph the ablation process of the CFRP tube,and explain the common phenomenon during the ablation process.The phenomena were analyzed and its causes were analyzed;the common processing defects in the picosecond laser processing of CFRP tubes were summarized.(3)Based on the "N-score method",a lateral cut of the picosecond laser of the CFRP tube was proposed,and the defocus amount,the picosecond laser average power,the picosecond laser repetition frequency,the picosecond laser scanning speed and the trajectory were studied by the single factor test method.Effect of overlap rate on the transversal quality of picosecond laser cutting of CFRP tubes.(4)In order to explore the influence of different cutting methods on the quality of the picosecond laser cutting of CFRP pipe,a radial cutting method of picosecond laser of CFRP pipe was proposed.The average power of picosecond laser and the repetition frequency of picosecond laser and the effects of picosecond laser spot overlap ratio on the radial cutting quality of picosecond lasers with CFRP tubes were studied by single factor test.
