Nowadays,there are more and more applications of neutrons in various fields.China has also planned and constructed a large scientific facility for the research of neutron science and neutron applications in the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period-China's spallation neutron source.In the back streaming direction of the China's spallation neutron source,there is a white neutron beam line that is suitable for nuclear data measurement,called Back-n.Seven spectrometers are currently planned at Back-n.One of them is light-charged particle detector arrays(LPDA),which is used for the study of neutron-induced charged particle emission(n,lcp).Due to the large number of channels and the high precision required by the LPDA,the existing readout electronics systems are difficult to meet the requirements.Therefore,a new readout electronics system needs to be proposed.Back-n general-propose readout electronics system based on the PXIe platform,uses waveform digitizing technology.It can acquire the required physical information from recording waveforms,and has the advantages of simple flexible architecture and high efficiency.By reusing existed design,the required readout electronics system can be quickly developed.In order to increase the integration and performance to support the needs of the LPDA,a new waveform digitization module needs to be designed.Therefore,this paper studies the waveform-digitizing module that is suitable for LPDA spectrometer.Firstly,this paper investigates related spectrometers at home and abroad,especially their readout electronics systems.Based on the investigations,this paper proposes a readout electronics system based on the PXIe platform and analyze the requirements for waveform digitizing modules.Then,according to requirements,the detailed design and test verification of the prototype circuit of the waveform-digitizing module is introduced.This paper proposes a waveform-digitizing module meeting the needs of the LPDA spectrometer that is based on a flexible daughter-mother board architecture,is capable of signal conditioning,and has four 1-GSps,12-bit digitizing channels.In addition,the waveform digitalization module proposed in this paper also has strong expandability and certain commonality.It may be suitable for neutron spectrometers with similar requirements,or it may provide reference for similar designs.
