Throughout the development and evolution of the Carboniferous reef system,the factors such as the extinction event,the global climate change,the sea level fluctuation and the tectonic movement reflect the big influence on it.After the collapse in the Devonian,the Carboniferous reef system start a evolution with unique.As lack of the report of frame reef all over the word,frame reef growth both in the early and late Carboniferous in the south of China,which exhibit characteristics of a low maturity,a monotonous biology and not-big scale,mainly growed at Carbonate platform edge and interior of the Nanpanjiang basin This thesis has entirely analysised the temporal and spatial distribution,basic characteristics,reef system and controlling factors of the Carboniferous reef in Nanpanjiang Basin,studied the reef system evolution.As a indispensable part of the Carboniferous reefs,the reef compared with the reef system of global,from which expose the characteristics of system evolution of Carboniferous Coral Reef in Nanpanjiang Basin.The Carboniferous reef of Nanpanjiang Basin has a distinct temporal and spatial distribution.During the early Carboniferous,the reef grow from late Tournaisian to Visean,distributed in Langping and Laibin in Guangxi.During the late Carboniferous,reef in Bashkirian distribute in Langping platform in Guangxi and spread in South of Guizhou during Kasimovian and Gzhelian.Though the Carboniferous,reef system has a distinctive features because of the change of temporal and spatial distribution and environmental.Tournaisian stage,it mainly developed microbial algal reef,which has small size,lack of frame biological;Visean stage,bryozoans-coral skeleton reef,stromatolite algal reef and rugose coral frame reef developed,which has small size,developed benthic and single main building reef,including Thysanophyllum,Fistulipora,Syringopora,Lithostrotion,Diphyphyllum,Siphonodendron,stromatolite algal and microbial;Bashkirian developed Longjiangdong reef and Longjiangdong coral reef,which has small size,low biodiversity and single main building reef,including Diphyphyllum,Caninia,Lithostrotionella and microbial;Kasimovian and Gzhelian period mainly developed Ivanovia cf.manchurica coral skeleton,non-named framework reef,phylloid algal reef,blue bacteria reef,Tubiphytes bond reef and Fomitchevella coral frame reef,which has various types of reefs,various reef size and rich species.The reef system of Nanpanjiang basin in Carboniferous has experienced complex evolution.In terms of types of reefs,early Carboniferous reef system dominated by the microbial algal reef mounds,mainly reef types are small size bryozoans,corals,stromatolite algae;Late Carboniferous reef system began from small size coral framework reefs,but dominated by the phylloid algal and coral frame reef.As the time goes by,the reef system of Nanpanjiang Basin is trend toward more complex,advanced and diverse.In spatial distribution,influenced by the regional tectonic movement and sea level fluctuation,reef development in Langping during early Carboniferous and early Late Carboniferous,development in Qiannan area during the late Late Carboniferous.From time angle,influenced by extinction events and climate change cold events,the reef not developed in early Tournaisian,Serpukhov,Moscovian and developed in late Tournaisian to Visean,a little in Bashkirian and prosperous in Kasimovian and Gzhelian.Through analysis of the comparison in the same period in the world,the Carboniferous reef system of research area keeps consistency with the world,but also has its own characteristics.Consistencys:the reef through the restoration process,generally small scale and the similar building species during each period.Own features:(1)Framework reef growth both in early and late Carboniferous,proved the existence of the skeleton reef development after the extinction event;(2)Sponges are not exist.The research area mainly developed coral reef in Bashkirian,while algae and sponges over the world;During Moscovian mainly developed reef builded by Chaetetes over the world,while no corresponding biology migrate in the reserch area;(3)During Kasimovian and Gzhelian,the world mainly developed phylloid alga reef,while the research area not only developed phylloid alga reef,but numbers of coral reef.
