As groundwater overdraft and pollution problems appear day by day,our country attaches more and more attentions to the protection of groundwater environment.The enacting of Environmental Impact Assessment Technical Guidelines—Groundwater Environment(HJ 610—2011)makes the protection of groundwater as an legal behavior.Groundwater environment impact assessment has not yet formed a unified assessment tool.Analytical method has no special evaluation software.When apply to numerical method,the software related such as GMS,Modflow and Feflow are so professional that non-groundwater people can not handle them.Spreadsheets can provide great convenience for non-professionals if developed with its powerful data processing ability,iterative calculation function and friendly visualization interface as well as the benefit of easy to operate.According to the formula of analytical and numerical method for groundwater flow and solute transport in Appendix F of Environmental Impact Assessment Technical Guidelines-Groundwater Environment(HJ610-2011),Visual Basic for Applications programming language was used in spreadsheets to build the model.Analytical model was achieved by editing the related functions.Numerical model was achieved through finite difference method at the same time,and the realization of the model in spreadsheets was based on the results of the method.User-defined functions in spreadsheet concerning analytical model were verified through consulting the Groundwater Dynamics and the Hydrogeological Manual,the result performs very well.The model built was verified by GMS software and it turns out that spreadsheet and GMS results are in good agreement and the difference between them is in line with the requirements of relevant specification or standard,which means that the model can be used to solve actual groundwater problems.The validated model applies to practical engineering evaluation finally,which set one thermal power plant an an example.
