With the rapid development of optical communication technology,mobile communication has quickly spread in China,the capacity of the communication is also growing optical fibercommunication towards further miniaturization and integration-oriented direction.Inrecent years,electronic integrated photonic integration technology and the rapid development of technologies,and the planar waveguide technology is one very important point.Planar optical waveguide device is based on planar waveguide technology,optical devices to achieve integration,increased capacity and stability of the device,while greatly reducing the volume.Planar optical waveguide device manufacturing process is one of the most important step for the coupling devices,Currently the optical path coupling with the debugging process is mainly done by manually under the microscope.Time-consuming and commissioning repeatability and stability depens on the impact of staff skill levels beacuase of the large individual differences.In addition,the manual optical path in commissioning have higher familiarity and higher requirements for equipment for the operator,at the same time the long training period is not conducive to the rapid production of optical devices.Thus the traditional manual or semi-automatic debugging methods have been less suited to smaller,preciser and more channel optical coupling device debugging requirements,purpose of this paper is to develop a set of automatic coupling system to achieve automatic coupling debugging.In the development of specific systems,the paper on the hardware circuit,the mechanical structure,and control algorithms on software development of this system are discussed.First,the hardware circuit has taken control of the ARM architecture,optical power through PD acquisition,ADC sampling feedback control movement of the motor.After the mechanical structure by assembling motor and connection blocks left and right ends of the complete assembly of the six-dimensional trimming frame,and according to the device and the location and size of the design of a proximity sensor coupling fixture.Inthe software and control algorithms using PC binding under position control method,which uses a variety of algorithms,such as hysteresis elimination method,the second fitting,image processing.After completion of system development,to achieve the following Features:(1)coupling a short time;(2)high stability of the system;(3)compliance thick plastic device;(4)high coupling precision.By the actual production it shows that the system can be competent planar optical waveguide device production use.
