Slurry suspension introduced to atomic absorption spectrometry is convenient and environmental-friendly detection method in real mineral samples.About 1-5?m ultrafine powder particles of lead ore, iron ore and rhodochrosite were triturated by fluidized-bed jet mill and dispersed by polyacrylic acid sodium, polyethylene oxide, sodium hexametaphoshpate, sodium citrate and sodium tripolyphosphate. The preparation methods and conditions of stable mineral suspension, the relationship of surface tension of different surfactants with atomization efficiency and rates and the stability, reliability, accuracy of the proposed method were all investigated. The results are as follows:(1)The stable suspension of 1~5 ?m mineral samples could be prepared by the proper type of surfactants, mass concentration of surfactants, solid contents of suspension and pH.The most stable suspension was obtained when 5.0 g/L polyacrylic acid sodium was served as dispersion agent, the solid contents of lead ore, iron ore and rhodochrosite were 10.0 g/L?15.0 g/L?15.0 g/L,and the pH was adjusted to 8~9.(2)The sensitivity of suspension injection detection could be increased with the proper type and concentration of surfactants, because the atomization efficiency of suspension was increased. The optimum atomization efficiency was obtained when 5.0 g/L polyacrylic acid sodium was served as dispersion agent.(3)Direct introduction of the lead ore, iron ore and rhodochrosite suspensions prepared by 5.0 g/L polyacrylic acid sodium in atomic absorption spectrometry were stable, reliable and accurate.
