With the continuous improvement of the level of economic globalization, the exhibition industry is playing an increasingly important role in promoting trade exchanges, technological exchanges, information communication, economic cooperation, and increasing employment. The exhibition industry has a strong driving effect on the industry. It can not only cultivate new industrial clusters, but also stimulate the development of industries such as transportation, tourism, catering, advertising, and finance. With the continuous development of the convention and exhibition industry at home and abroad, the management of risk accidents for conventions and exhibitions is faced with research challenges, especially during the exhibition and exhibition activities, and the population density is high.It is very important to deal with incidents such as group panic and crowded stampede that may exist in specific activities. There are abundant researches on the exhibition industry, while discussion on risk management is limited. This paper first introduces the theoretical basis of MICE risk management and the EMBOK model, followed by case study methods.Taking the risk management of the Shanghai Expo 2010 Milan project as an example, based on the EMBOK risk management knowledge area as a tool for the analysis, the indicators of the risks of the Shanghai Expo 2010 Milan Expo items are summarized as 5 Level 1 risks and 35 Level 2 risks; Then, using AHP model to determine the weights of the indicators and sorting the indicators, the top ten key factors for the risk of Shanghai Expo 2015 Expo 2015 were obtained.Corresponding preventive measures are proposed for these ten factors.Taking into consideration of both practical experience and theoretical research, this paper aims to provide reference for risk management in exhibitions and exhibitions, especially for participating in international conventions and exhibitions.
