Media Supervision,Political Connection And Audit Quality

In the field of theory and practice,as the last barrier for the financial information of listed companies to enter the capital market,scholars have been paid close attention to its quality.The quality of audit is not only related to the characteristics of accounting firms and audited units,but also the external environmental factors have a certain impact on the quality of audit.This article is based on the information dissemination and supervision functions of the third parties as an independent media,and analyzes its influence mechanism on the audit quality.In addition,with the rapid development of the Internet,the media form of communication has also undergone certain changes.With the change of media,the media's role in the quality of audit has changed?At the same time,in our country,the media was incorporated into the local party and government administrative system,which causes the news media behavior is influenced by the party and government organs to a certain extent,it will affect the political connection between enterprises will not affect the media supervision and audit quality?Based on the above problems,this paper enriches the research horizon of media supervision and audit quality.In this paper,2013-2015 China's two stock markets of Shanghai and Shenzhen A shares of listed companies as the research sample,negative reports on media data,corporate finance,accounting and auditing data analysis,influence of media supervision on audit quality,and the moderating effect of political connection between the media supervision and audit quality.Besides,the media supervision is further divided into newspaper media supervision and network media supervision according to the channel of communication,and further studies the influence of different types of media supervision on audit quality.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)under the condition of other conditions,the supervision of the newspaper media and the supervision of the Internet media are all positively related to the quality of the audit.(2)in the case of other conditions,compared with the supervision of the network media,the supervision of the newspaper media has a greater impact on the quality of the audit.(3)under other conditions,the political connections between the chairman and the general manager of listed companies have a moderating effect on the positive correlation between media supervision and audit quality,that is,political connections will weaken the positive correlation between media supervision and audit quality.
