Chinese Companies’ Barriers To Direct Investment In The United States And Countermeasures

International direct investment has been an important driver of global economic growth.After 40 years of reform and opening-up,especially after China joined the WTO in 2001,China’s economic development has maintained a fast and good development trend.Improve China’s international economic status,has become the most potential for development of economic entities,the good economic development momentum in attracting a lot of developed countries to invest directly in China at the same time,the rising power of China enterprises with their own,also more and more strong and confident to foreign direct investment abroad.Direct investment of Chinese enterprises in developed countries for various reasons,including access to developed country enterprises of advanced technology and management experience,good reputation,high international brand value.The us as China’s most important trade and investment partner,a leading science and technology and management experience,a sound legal system,the high quality of enterprise talents,stable domestic political environment,therefore has the very strong investment attraction for Chinese enterprises.China’s direct investment in the United States is not only beneficial to improve their competitiveness,is advantageous to the adjustment of industrial structure in our country at the same time,strengthen the industry competitiveness and make China to actively integrated into the global supply chain system.Although China’s direct investment to the United States since 2010,maintained a high growth rate,but China and the United States as the largest developed country and developing countries,along with the development of two countries chose different roads,therefore,has long been a conflict between the two countries in ideology.This is mainly reflected in the two countries’ trade and investment issues,the United States use their dominance in the world,from our country enterprise investment set many obstacles,which not only hindered the pace of China’s enterprises to invest,and further affect the political relations between the two countries.Given the trend of economic globalization and political polarization,it is not advisable for us to adopt an attitude towards Chinese enterprises.Therefore,it is very important for enterprises to improve their investment ability in the United States.This paper is divided into five parts.The specific arrangement is: the first part is the introduction,and the background of the topic is introduced firstly.Secondly,it states the direct significance of China to the United States from both theoretical and practical significance.Thirdly,the research status of China’s direct investment in the United States is described and the relevant literatures are reviewed.Finally,this paper introduces the research ideas and methods,innovation points and shortcomings.The second part introduces the investment present situation and characteristics of Chinese enterprises,including four sorts of characteristic,were China to the us direct investment is growing rapidly but the overall smaller,investment subject is given priority to with non-state-owned enterprises,investment mode is given priority to with mergers and acquisitions;The third part analyzes the obstacles facing China’s direct investment in the United States.Political and legal aspects of investment barriers include national security review of foreign investment in the United States agency scrutiny,anti-monopoly law and securities law,intellectual property rights barriers and high labor standards.Other barriers to investment include U.S.restrictions on industry access and pressure from U.S.interest groups.In the fourth part,the author puts forward some pertinent Suggestions from the government level and the enterprise level.The advice of the government level including increasing bilateral dialogue mechanism and establish the mutual political trust,actively push forward bilateral investment treaty negotiations process,improve the foreign investment laws and regulations and to simplify examination and approval procedures,provide policy support and improve the government service function.Suggestions including enterprise level familiar with international security mechanism of censorship in the United States,to address America CFIUS scrutiny,carefully choose investment way and investment fields,fully appreciated in the United States of publicity and public relations activities,and improve the enterprise internal foreign investment management mechanism;The fifth part summarizes the general situation of China’s direct investment in the United States and prospects for the investment prospect.
