| Nowadays,with the continuous development of information technology and the approach of mobile internet era,an increasing number of organizations start using the collaborative office platform.Compared to the traditional office era,the work autonomy of the employee in the organization has changed greatly.The application of the collaborative office platform has an indelible impact during this process.As early as the 1970 s,scholars began to focus on employee work autonomy.Over the 40 years,domestic and foreign scholars are mostly concerned about the impact of employee work autonomy,but far less attention are paid on what impacts on employee work autonomy.In order to manage the organization better and help employees enjoy more of the benefits of work autonomy,it is essential to open the black box of how collaborative office platform affect the employee work autonomy.Therefore,this study mainly uses case study methodology,combining with social network analysis methodology and complex network analysis methodology,selecting a company in Beijing as the case,to do a exploratory researching on how collaborative office platform impacts on employee work autonomy.First of all,this study designed and implemented two turns of case interviews and established the employees’ working flow network based on the most frequently used working flow by the company.Then,on the basis of the case interview data,the mobile office function and working flow supporting function have been proposed.Finally,Analysis has been conducted on how the tow functions of the collaborative office platform impact on employees’ work autonomy on account of interview data and network analysis.The duality effect of Collaborative office platform impacting on employees work autonomy has been presented:(1)The collaborative office platform enhances employee work autonomy in terms of working methods and working time and location by allowing employees to define their own working methods and further relieving employee from working hours and locations;(2)The collaborative office platform reduces the employee’s work autonomy by promoting organizational flatness,strengthening supervisory control among employees,reducing waiting among employees,increasing uncontrollable employee and increasing the uncertainty of working hours and locations.This study explores the impact of the collaborative office platform on the employee work autonomy.It can supply the domestic and foreign relevant research.Meanwhile,this study can guide the company use collaborative office platform better,promote the integration of employee life and work better. |
