Research On The Influencing Factors Of Organizational Knowledge Flow Based On Patentometrics

Knowledge becomes the core resource of the organization with the technological changeand economic globalization,and technological innovation capability is regarded as the crucial force to support the organization competitive advantage.In the context of the increasing complexity and widely distribution of technology and innovation,external knowledge resources,which is an integral part of the organization knowledge system,has an important impact on the organization core competence.Knowledge flow refers to the process of knowledge spillover or transfer between different actors through direct or indirect interaction and communication.As a key channel for organizations to acquire external knowledge,knowledge flow is of great significance to enhance the innovation ability and competitive position of the organization.Therefore,it is necessary to clarify the influencing factors of organizational knowledge flow and mechanism of these factors.By analyzing the existing literature on knowledge flow,the paper points out that the knowledge flow of each organization in the knowledge flow network is divided into two forms,which are knowledge flow of between the two organizations and integral knowledge flow of an organization.For both forms of knowledge flow,this paper constructs a systematic analysis framework of influencing factors of knowledge flow from the perspective of proximity and social network.Based on the patentometrics,we analyze the patent data from the Derwent Innovation Index database empirically,combined with social network theory.With respect to the analysis of the influencing factors of the interorganizational knowledge flow,this paper establishes a unified analysis model including geographic proximity,social proximity,technological proximity and the proximity of technological capability,and then obtains the results based on the QAP multiple regression analysis.With regard to the integral knowledge flow of an organization node,we propose a relationship model between the network structure of technological correlation network and cooperation network and the knowledge flow,and use SPSS multiple regression method for empirical analysis.In this paper,the analysis on the effect of the proximity of different dimensions such as knowledge characteristics,geographical position,social relations and technical ability level,is useful for organizations to develop knowledge flow strategies and obtain external knowledge resources successfully.The analysis on the effect of the network structure indicators in the correlation network and collaboration network,is helpful for organizations to adjust thenetwork embedded strategies and cultivate the network location advantages to improve the knowledge flow effect.
