Research On The Urbanization In Xinjiang Border Ports

The urbanization development of Xinjiang border ports is both the objective requirement of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Zone,and the way and attribution to construct the core area of the Silk Road Economic Zone.It is not only related to the construction process of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Zone,but also more concerned with the realization of the overall goal of social stability and long-term stability in Xinjiang.Therefore,the study on the urbanization of Xinjiang border ports is of great historical and practical significance.Based on the international trade theory,regional spatial organization theory,regional division and factor flow theory and ecological town planning theory,and choosing the literature analysis method,comparative analysis method,quantitative and qualitative analysis method,this paper points out that the urbanization development of Xinjiang border ports confronts some issues,that is,the backward infrastructure construction,the low level of foreign trade,the less smooth customs clearance mechanism,the big difficulty of integration development and so on.It also discusses the location advantage of port town and the construction opportunity of the core area of the Silk Road Economic Zone.What’s more,it also indicates that the urbanization development of Xinjiang border ports faces a few challenges—complex political environment,severe security problem,fierce competition of port resources and vulnerable ecological environment,for instance.According to the above facts,this paper puts forward the basic development thoughts to promote the development of Xinjiang port,that is,to deal with the relationship between the interactive development of port and town,to play the leading role of market mechanism,to highlight the development characteristics of different port towns,to strengthen the democracy of port towns,to give priority to environmental protection of port towns,and to create green livable port towns.In order to ensure the implementation of the above strategic thinking,this paper proposes the countermeasures from the improvement of the infrastructure construction,the cultivation of leading industries with various characteristics,thecoordination of customs clearance mechanism and other aspects.
