In this paper,the author focus on the status quo and problems of the category management of the cigarette market by the method of literature review and comparative analysis on the category planning of the Turpan cigarette market,and then comes to a conclusion:Firstly,this paper analyzes the present situation and problems of the category management of the cigarette market,and finds out that the Turpan cigarette market exists many problems,such as more cigarette specifications,blurred brand,high brand concentration,strong dependence,and unreasonable price and other issues,as for the management problems of the cigarette market category in Turpan,the paper puts forward the concept of category management.Secondly,the paper conducts the market research for the Turpan cigarette market,through issuing the questionnaire which includes three aspects of purpose,content and methods,and then the paper analyzes the results of descriptive statistical,as to excavate the demands of Turpan consumers for the cigarette market.Thirdly,on basis of market research,this paper puts forward that the category management of Turpan cigarettes has the characteristics of "standard rough,less application,less planning and weak execution",meanwhile,finds "diversified,meticulous,Market " trend from the category of Turpan cigarette marketFourthly,In Turpan category planning goal and under the guidance of cigarette market,this paper finds out the lack of implementation of Turpan cigarette market category planning and puts forward some policy suggestions.
