Research On The Dynamic Change Of Comparative Advantage Of Chinese Automobile Industry

Since the Reform and Opening Up,Chinese automobile industry following the princip le of comparative advantage to actively participate in the international divis ion of labor,has made great achievements.Whether it is from the total production of cars,or from the automobile industry output,China is worthy of the name car manufacturing country.However,in the international market,Chinese auto industry due to the lack of technical reserves,has not made significant development in the high-end automotive market.At the same time,with the gradual loss of labor advantagein China,the increas ingly prominent of resource and environme-ntal constraints,Chinese automobile industry needs to cultivate and create new comparative advantages and promote the international competitiveness of the automobile industry.Based on the basic theory of comparative advantage,this paper introduces the current research of comparative advantage and Chinese automobile industry.On the basis of the existing measure research of comparative advantages,this paper establishes the index system of comparative advantage of Chinese automobile industry,and puts forward the analysis method--factor analysis method used in this paper.Then statistical analyzes each index,which reflects the comparative advantage and calculates the comparative advantage of Chinese automobile industry from 2000 to 2015 by using the established comparative index system of Chinese automobile industry.The results show that Chinese automobile industry comparative advantage has made some development as a whole,but it is subject to the weak automobile industry foundation,and the accumulated comparative advantage is not stable enough to be affected by the external shocks.Then,this paper summarizes the five factors that influence the dynamic change of comparative advantage--factor endowment,scale economy,R&D investment,industrial characteristics and export scale,and analyzes its effect on the comparative advantage of Chinese automobile industry.The results show that the factor endowment,R&D investment and export scale have a significant positive effect on the improvement of the comparative advantage of Chinese automobile industry;the industrial characteristics are positively correlated with the improvement of comparative advantage,but the effect is not significant;economies of scale have not played a positive role in the dynamic promotion of comparative advantage.
