Since the 2008 financial crisis,the salary problem of bank industries top management has been noticed by society and academic circle.To standardize the compensation level of banking industry in our country,China Banking Regulatory Commission(CBRC)released “the Supervision Guidelines on the Steady Salary of Commercial Banks” in March 2010 and “the Governance Guidelines of Commercial Banks” in July 2013,in order to control the situation of high compensation of senior top management and guide banks to develop a reasonable salary incentive system and promote the healthy and stable development of banks.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the influence of top management of bank pay difference on bank achievements,set up the salary system of executive of bank reasonably,standard the salary difference of top management of bank and improve the bank achievements and promote the healthy and sustainable development of banks,which has a important practical and theoretical significance.On the basis of summarizing the relevant research,this paper constructs the empirical model of the relationship between the top management pay difference and the bank achievements,collects annual report data of the Shanghai and Shenzhen listed banks from 2007 to 2015 by analysis of regression and then analyzes the relationship between top management pay difference and bank achievements,and the regulation between the listed banks scale and the ownership concentration.The study result shows that the interpretation of the behavior theory of top management pay difference and listed bank achievements is in line with China's situation,and widening top management pay difference is not conducive to improving bank achievements.Besides,they exist a regulation effect between top management pay difference and the achievements of listed banks.The results of the study are as follows:(1)there is a significant negative correlation between the top management pay difference and the achievements of the listed banks in Chinese listed banks;(2)the size of the listed banks has a reverse adjustment effect on the relationship between the top management pay difference and the bank achievements;(3)the ownership concentration has a reverse adjustment effect on the relationship between top management pay difference and bank achievements.According to the research results,this paper puts forward to the following suggestions:(1)reduce the basic wage difference between top management and avoid damaging team work atmosphere because of the difference of the basic wage,(2)pay attention to the influence between top management pay difference and bank achievements caused by adjustments factors,and set up the reasonable salary structure which is match the development of banks(3)establish a reasonable compensation system and form a mature professional managers market,especially long-term compensation incentives,(4)break the position of state banks monopoly position and encourage private capital into the bank industry,strengthen market competitiveness,and improve the vitality of financial markets(5)further complete the information disclosure system and strengthen effective supervision.
