| Unlike other two-sided markets developed by one-sided markets,the operating system was born with the properties of a two-sided market.A typical two-sided market structure was formed by operating system platforms,users and software developers.Firstly,this paper details the two-sided market characteristics of desktop operating system from cross-network externality,multi-homing and pricing structure.Secondly,this paper constructs a duopoly pricing model of operating system based on Hotelling model and innovatively introduces the factors of conversion cost on the basis of combing the bilateral market characteristics of desktop operating system,and extends the model from single-stage competition to Two-period dynamic game model.Then,based on the existing irrationality of open-source operating system and closed operating system,a new competitive model based on the new standard is constructed.The results of the two models show that(1)the price of the operating system in the second period is proportional to its market share in the first period;(2)The market share of the platform in the second period is positively related to its market share in the first period.(3)The price of the platform for two-sided users depends on its utility increment relative to other operating systems.(4)The price difference between the two-sided users depends on the relative strength of the cross network's externalities.Thirdly,on the basis of the mathematical model,this paper collected data about the influencing factors of consumer operating system decision-making by means of questionnaires.Based on the collected data,the logistic regression model was used to analyze the effect of operating system decision.The results show that the factors influencing consumer decision are stability and compatibility,ease of use,quantity,price and number of consumers.Finally,on the basis of the conclusion,some policy suggestions are put forward for the development of the domestic operating system. |
