Research On Virtual Team Task-communication's Effects On Team Performance

With the development of the mobile Internet and IT technologies,across time,space,and organizational boundaries,through digital media to communicate virtual teams have become an important part of team research at home and abroad.In order to achieve same objectives and specific tasks,virtual team collaborate with modern information technology between team members,share knowledge,and interact with each other,forming a dynamic collaborative process.Collaboration in virtual teams is the process to accomplish a common goal and task of communication,which is the key to virtual team of team performance.Therefore,virtual teams research of scholars at home and abroad focus on the task communication of virtual team,team performance impact,and how to improve the effectiveness of virtual team's communication to improve team performance.Based on the former study of task communication of virtual team,the study first carded both home and abroad researches and theories,especially reviewing and summary the researches about virtual team concept,and task communication and transactive memory system,and then,proposed the assumed mode that in virtual team,task communication make effect on team performance through transactive memory system as intermediary variable.International Business Machine(IBM)China Limited as typical enterprise to use virtual team as its organization mode,takes special place in the area of virtual team research,so this research chose IBM virtual team for research sample to inquiry that in team job,task communication effect on team performance,and transactive memory system working as intermediary effect factor,through expertise,and credible and coordination three dimensions.This research based on related researches and theories,issued questionnaire from IBM virtual team to collect data and used specifically statistics software to make scientific analysis,proving assumed model for validation and obtaining the following conclusions:the communication timing and quality of virtual team's task communication make great effect on task performance and relationship performance through expertise,and credible and coordination of transactive memory system,which three dimensions played roles of intermediary variable in the working mechanism system.
