China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology began to gradually release commercial licenses which based on the third generation mobile communication technology(3G)to three operators in 2008.Only after less than five years,Ministry of Industry and Information Technology started to issue commercial license of 4G at the end of 2013.China Mobile is the first one to acquire 4G licenses(fourth generation mobile communication technology).From then on,high-speed mobile Internet which based on 4G was started.China Mobile,China Unicom,China Telecom have entered the era of 4G.With the continuous development and rapid progress of communication technology,socialization production gradually entering a new era of information and even age of data.The development of China's telecom operators also will enter into the most urgent and serious turning point which seeks to innovation and variety as the global market competition becomes increasingly fierce under the background of new era.With the arrival of mobile high-speed Internet era,microblogging,Facebook,Wechat and other instant social applications quickly gather a large number of users,and it causes impact to operator's traditional business to a certain extent.In 2015,non-voice revenues in China's telecommunications industry accounted for more than 55% of the industry total revenue.Traditional business,represented by voice business continues to shrink,the trend of SMS is being replaced by a variety of instant social soft wares is obvious.Advantages of traditional telecom operators rely on the old monopoly and the relatively large fixed assets have been gradually weakened.In the traditional communication era,strategic position is mainly concentrated on the competition with traditional markets.In high-speed Internet era,the formulation and implementation of the development strategy of operators is apparently slow.On the basis of consulting a large number of domestic and foreign relevant literatures,this paper summarizes the development of telecommunications operators in a new era at home and abroad,analyzing the current market situation of telecom operators according to the unique situation of China's telecommunications market.Throughout the study,this research paper makes analysis to China's three operator from the perspectives of the policy environment,the competition situation,the development of communication technology and future industry trend.Finally,take China Mobil for example,it not only analyses China Mobile's market layout of 4G by using PEST analytical method and SWOT model,but also makes an evaluation to the strategy of China Mobile from the view of development of 4G business and user scale.
