The remarkable development of information technology makes IT industry the foremost driving force of world economic growth.As a core and integral part of IT industry,software designing takes project management and cost control as one of the most important issues in its development.In the 21st century,the software industry of China maintains a high-speed and stable growth for many years,plays an increasingly important role in the national economy,penetrated into every field of the national economy,and has become the country's basic industry.However,compared with the international advanced level,it's obvious that there is a big gap in the level of software project management in China,especially in the aspect of software project cost management.Nowadays,many people in the industry and academia have realized it's necessary to do some researches about software project cost management.The level of software project cost management has a very important influence on the competitiveness enhancement and the accumulation of financial resources of software enterprises.If you want to reduce budget overruns of software projects effectively,we must make good use of software project cost management.Because it can help managers to supervise and manage the project development process,identify the milestones of the schedule or the budget,and determine the business bidding quotation,software outsourcing cost,project investment cost and so on.On the premise of guaranteed quality,the schedule has force to control and the organizations improve organizational efficiency.This thesis takes ZM Corporation as the research subject,which is a small-scale software company operated by the state.Due to its specialty as both a state-run and small-scale company,it is representative of similar enterprises and deserves a thorough-going research.Firstly,this thesis introduces the related theory of software project cost management,the theory guides the practice,and lays the theoretical foundation for the case research of ZM Corporation.Then,this thesis introduces the current situation of software project cost management of ZM Corporation,including the basic situation,the situation of software project and software project cost management in ZM Corporation.On this basis,the author explores the existing problems in the software project cost management of ZM Corporation,and analyzes their causes.Finally,in view of the existing problems,combined with the relevant theory and the actual situation of the company,ZM Corporation formulated the perfect system of cost estimation,attached great importance to software testing,established a mechanism of sharing project achievements,increased investment in technical renewal,reasonably allocated human resources and paid utmost attention to cost variance.Through the implementation of these measures and methods,ZM Corporation has got a corresponding increase in the level of software project cost management,and achieved certain results,which has an important reference significance for the majority of domestic small and medium-sized software enterprises in the aspect of software project cost management.
