Construction industry occupies a significant status in China's national economy,and mechanical and electrical installation as a very important link in construction engineering will directly influence the later use function and comfort level of the building.In recent years,market competition is becoming fiercer along with descending in overall achievements of construction industry.The electromechanical installation and construction enterprises are in urgent need of enhancing their efficiency and the competitive ability to response to market environment.The projects are the basic units of the construction enterprises,so the improvement of overall achievements for one enterprise should start with the projects.However,the enterprises lack the accurate judgment methods for production efficiency of projects,and the effective extent of project production cannot be grasped intuitively based on traditional results of achievements.Thus,how to evaluate the construction efficiency at the project level by using scientific method and enhance the company efficiency through specific improvement is an important issue with research significance.In this paper,the engineering projects of an electromechanical installation building company were selected as the research object.The production efficiency of mechanical and electrical engineering was calculated and evaluated through the establishment of evaluation index system by data envelopment analysis(DEA)in order to get the effectiveness sorting of all projects.Firstly,this paper pointed out the research aim and significance,and determined the research method and research content after the analysis and summary of the existing related researches.Then the concepts of production efficiency and efficiency evaluation were been defined and the common methods of efficiency evaluation were compared.In addition,the paper put forward a brief introduction about the basic principle and relevant models of DEA method,and confirmed the implementation steps of efficiency evaluation.On this basis,the evaluation index system was established combining with the characteristics of mechanical and electrical construction.Among the system,the input indicators included labor cost,materials expenses,machinery consumption,administrative fee and construction period,and the output indicators mainly consisted of profit and production value.The paper collected the actual cost data of recent 16 projects in a mechanical and electrical installation company and calculated the data by software of DEAP2.1 and MATLAB R2014a to evaluate the production efficiency.This study put forward the effectiveness sorting of production efficiency for all projects by DEA method.In addition,a more scientific effectiveness sorting was carried out with the introduction of cross-efficiency evaluation method because of the DEA boundedness.The relative effectiveness between different projects were obtained through the sorting,and the management levels of different project management team were evaluated.Through study of the efficiency deviation of all indexes by DEA,the relatively ineffective reasons can be found out and targeted supervise training can be conducted for the project management team of low relative efficiency to improve the working method and train of thought in the next project management.In addition to the evaluation and sorting of completed projects,the research results can be applied in real time monitoring of newly-commenced projects to timely discover the low efficiency phenomenon during project process.Meanwhile train of thought to solve the problems and improve efficiency can be put forward to provide certain reference for subsequent project management.This paper offers the theoretical support for production efficiency improvement of the electromechanical installation engineering,and possess practical significance for the electromechanical installation company.
