| In recent years, the overseas engineering contracting enterprises are facing a more competitive market. The entrprises are attaching importance to improving the project performance to make-sure that they still maintain a long-term competitive ability. It is when the performance evaluation becomes crucial for overseas construction projects. As a result,we establish an performance evaluation system for the overseas construction project. We successfully introduced both financial and non-financial factors,short-term and long-term factors into the evaluation system.Firstly,we have reviewed the research already done in the project performance evaluation area.Secondly,we have shortly introduced and clarified the therories behind the overseas construction project performance evaluation.Thirdly,we analysed the problems exsiting in the overseas construction projects currently, and pointed out where we could improve by introducing the new performance evaluation method, which is the balanced scorecard method.Forthly,we eatablished the evaluation system by introducing four types of evaluating factors, including financial factors, customer factors,inner-contro factors and improving factors.Fifthly,we introduce this mehod into a real life projects, and compare the evaluation results between two types of evaluation systems, including the traditional one and the one we built in this paper. In order to determine the weights of the factors in the system,we also used the analytic hierarchy process and interviewed many overseas construction project managers to let them give the weights. The results show that the overseas project performance evaluation system established in this paper has the advantages of easy operation and scientific conclusion. So this system has the certain application value. |
