Research On The New Normal Of Chinese Economic Development

Chinese economic development has entered a new normal state,"to understand the new normal,to adapt to the new normal,to lead the new normal,is the logic of economic development in the current and future periods".Since the study on the new normal has just begun in recent years,the related study is neither comprehensive nor thorough.There exist different views such as what the new normal is,when and why the Chinese economic development entered the new normal,how long the new normal will last,what the basic characteristics of the new normal are compared with the old normal,what the challenges and opportunities will be,how to adapt to and lead the new normal.People haven’t reached a consensus on these views,so there is an urgent need for further studies to reach a correct consensus.The correct consensus will promote a sustainable,stable and efficient development of economy in the new normal.This dissertation will focus on the connotation of economic development in the new normal,the reasons and duration of the new normal,the basic characteristics,the challenges and opportunities of the new normal.At last,the dissertation will put forward reasonable and effective measures about how to adapt to and lead the new normal thus making up the present studies.This dissertation tries to put forward some views different from the existing ones in the following aspects:First of all,this dissertation argues that the new normal refers to the new state of economic development,and the state of economic development is mainly reflected in the economic growth rate,economic structure,economic development level,economic development quality and macroeconomic conditions while the existing studies generally focus on economic growth rate,economic structure and economic development level.Secondly,most of the current studies on the new normal don’t clearly define the beginning and duration of the new normal.This dissertation argues that the new normal began around the year of 2012 and will last for a long time until the dream of China’s second "one hundred year" comes true.Lastly,the current studies generally put forward corresponding measures such as implementing the new development concept,comprehensively deepening reform,strengthening structural reform of the supply front,optimizing the economic structure,promoting a deeper level of opening up.This dissertation argues that three new strategies including attaching more importance to the publicly-owned sector,improving the equality of income distribution,moving towards the "second leap" of agricultural reform and development are needed to adapt to and lead the new normal.
