Research On Effect Of The Regional Absorptive Capacity To The Reverse Technology Spillover Of China’s OFDI

Foreign direct investment in countries through various conduction mechanisms, directly or indirectly, to enhance domestic technology. Therefore, foreign direct investment has the reverse technology spillover effect. In recent years, the scale of China’s foreign direct investment is growing. China has become an emerging FDI source countries. Regional absorption capacity is an important factor OFDI reverse technology spillover. These studies on regional absorptive capacity of reverse technology spillover effect on China’s OFDI, will help enhance China OFDI reverse overflow technology, promote domestic technological progress. We combed the literature and theoretical basis, and defines key concepts. The paper analyzes the situation of China’s foreign direct investment. Then, the paper studies the regional absorptive capacity on OFDI reverse technology spillover, from theory and empirical analysis. Reverse technology spillover mainly through the host country’s spillover and domestisc overflow again.The research suggests that the regional absorptive capacity play an important role in the domestic technology spillover. In the empirical analysis, the paper firstly use 2003--2014 Provincial Panel Data to test the exists and regional differences of Chinese OFDI reverse technology spillover. The empirical results show that China’s foreign direct investment had a reverse technology spillover, promoted to enhance China TFP. But the impact of foreign direct investment acquired international R&D on TFP is significantly less than that of domestic R&D on the TFP.Tests of the eastern, central and western regions show that OFDI reverse technology spillover effect are differrent in different regions. Then the thesis paper examines the regional absorption capacity on the reverse technology spillover effect. The tests of three measure the absorption capacity show that the absorption capacity of the regional presence on the reverse technology spillover. Regional differences in absorption capacity led to regional differences reverse technology spillover effect Paper estimates the threshold value of the regional absorption capacity.
