Multiple-Input Multiple-Output(MIMO)radar security inspection imaging system can not only produce multi-dimensional high-resolution radar images,and also has many other advantages such as high real-time,strong penetrability,low system complexity,low hardware cost,safe and reliability.Array design and high-resolution imaging as two key techniques affect the systems' image quality and complexity.In the area of array design,equivalent array based MIMO array design method is introduced and the applicability of the method in near-field condition is proved from azimuth resolution.By analyzing the features of MIMO array at near-field condition,the cause of high grating lobes in images is explained and the necessity of the optimal array structure selection is illustrated.Finally,the optimal array selection approach considering both cross-range resolution and grating lobes level is proposed.In the area of high-resolution imaging,sidelobes and grating-lobes suppression techniques are studied.The sub-array images based sidelobes and grating-lobes suppression method and the CLEAN based sidelobes and grating-lobes suppression method are proposed,which can efficiently reduces the level of sidelobes and grating-lobes and are suitable for spatial variability in near-field imaging.
