With the rapid development of machinery industry,the requirements for the traditional aerospace,automotive,marine,molding and other industries are increasingly more and more important,more and more presicion.And we should focus on the growing demands for the complexity of the three dimensional modeling.As always,the three dimensional modeling is a research focus in the field of mechanical industry,the focuses this paper is based on point cloud data and product three dimensional modeling and the applications of reverse engineering.In the early stage of three dimensional modeling,we pay much attention on the building of the main structure of a model,such as the main outline,main location hole,which determines the structure of the key to your modeling process,as the same time,to decompose your model is also very impotant.If a structure can not be completed with three dimensional features directly,you need to find the outline of the structure of the other features,and the outline of these features need to get the corresponding geometric proportion,so that we will face a bottleneck in modeling.Such as bionics related mechanical parts,such as shoe tree,it is difficult to generate similar complex free surface through direct modeling.But if we first get three dimensional coordinate geometry data on the surface of the product,through the data acquisition with a special measuring equipment and measuring method.After we get the outline of the product,we can ask the three-dimensional modeling software UG or CATIA or help,so that we can obtain three-dimensional characteristics of the parts more easily,and then we can achieve the ideal model of the product.This paper also explains how to use cloud data collection,and how to use the three dimensional modeling sofyware,and applied it to the processing field of spiral bevel gears.By reverse engineering technology and methods system of complex parts of data acquisition,three dimensional modeling and NC machining,and so on.The main technology of reverse engineering implementation.By complex digital processing spiral bevel gears are the implementation of this technology.With the well development of computer numerical control technology,numerical control technology is applied to many different fields,in the process of numerical control machining,the machining program is becoming more and more important.Therefore,in this paper,not only researching on the spiral bevel gear processing,but also further study on the CAD/CAM technology in the field of computer numerical control machining applications.
