With the development of Internet technology and the increasingly powerful functions of various image editing software, the authenticity of the image is cumulatively difficult to tell the difference between the real one and the forged. The blind identification of tampered image research in the field of the authenticity of images is currently still a relatively hot research topic. Image inpainting not only can be used to restore a damaged image but also can be used to remove the target region. In this paper forgery detection of image inpainting is investigated.This paper extends a forgery detection algorithm for locating the tampered region which is based on image inpainting. Firstly, similarity blocks are determined by searching through the given region; Secondly, the suspicious region is marked by similarity block labeling; Thirdly, the huge mount of false positives caused by smooth area is filtered; Lastly, the final repaired region is located. Experimental results show that the algorithm can effectively filter out a large number of false positives and further identify the real fake area. Good performance both for the detection of single tampered region and for the multiple forged regions are demonstrated.Exemplar-based image inpainting searches best match patches for blocks of damaged region in the source region. Then the blocks in damaged region are replaced with pixels in best match blocks. The process above is a substitution for blocks. According to this characteristic, image inpainting forgery detection algorithm based on patch match is proposed. An iterative randomized algorithm for nearest-neighbor search which has been proposed is used to find similar blocks, and the similar blocks are labeled as suspicious blocks. Then the previous inpainting forgery detection algorithm is used to do filtration and final location. Experiments shows that the algorithm described performs well on such kind of tampered images.
